Hi, I’m Greg. I build infrastructure and software, lead teams, and still get close enough to the code to know whether the plan is actually cooking.
The skill tree includes automation at scale, cloud modernization, platform engineering, and mentoring. The objective is simple: make systems better for the humans using them.

COACH MODE.
SKI INSTRUCTOR ARC / MISSION RIDGE
My leadership origin story has a chairlift. Three years teaching skiing and snowboarding at Mission Ridge. Every student showed up with a different skill level and fear meter. I learned to spot the next move they could actually land. Now I do that for engineers whose skills leveled up before their confidence got the memo. Mountain arc? Weirdly transferable.

NEW POV.
BOOKS / ANTHROPOLOGY / ACTUALLY LISTENING
My first take has a skip button. Reading and cultural anthropology taught me that other people's POV is not optional DLC. Before I announce some galaxy-brain solution, I ask the developers, operators, and customers living with the system. Sometimes their reality absolutely ratios my pretty architecture diagram. Humbling? Yep. Useful? Extremely.

CRAFT CHECK.
MAKE IT WORK / MAKE IT HIT
It works is the bare minimum, bestie. If an interface makes someone squint under pressure, the code does not get a victory lap. I care how it looks, feels, and communicates. My game projects taught me that art direction can eat as many iterations as the implementation. Functional but cursed? Back to the lab.

SHARE THE LORE.
FREE KNOWLEDGE / NO GATEKEEPING
Knowledge gatekeeping? Massive L. Skydivers share what they know because the next person matters. That is why I am building CheckDive as a free, ad-free study app for skydivers. Same rule on an engineering team: pass the cheat codes, answer the 'obvious' question, help somebody else level up. Secret wizard tower energy is not the vibe.

DAD MODE.
FAMILY FIRST / BOUNDARIES ON
Dad mode: permanently equipped. My kids keep the priority list in 4K. Memories beat performative 11 p.m. Slack heroics. I want ambitious work with people who give a damn and still have lives outside the pager. High standards, humor, rest, boundaries: yes, all four can exist in the same build. Wild, I know.

NEXT QUEST.
ENGINEERING LEAD / BUILDER BRAIN
Team buffs. Zero calendar cosplay. Main quest: lead engineering full-time, set direction, stay close to the code, and help people ship career-best work. A senior hands-on role with real ownership and impact? Also unlocked. Bring on the hard problems.
